Expansive views of the Silicon Valley are what drew our clients (one of whom is a general contractor) to this hillside property for their new personal residence. The existing house was dilapidated and our clients desired a clean, modern renovation to take advantage of the views. An adjacent hill shaded the south façade, giving us inspiration to use lots of glass, including a roof window. The house was then filled with natural light, streaming in along the entire fenestrated axis from the entry to the bedrooms. We also utilized expansive sections of glass on the north view side, blurring the distinction between interior and exterior space.
