smoQe
aptos, california + bbq restaurant
architect | fuse architects inc.
details | cedar, corten, exposed concrete
The owner of smoQe bbq wanted to create a modern renovation to an existing rather non-descript building to attract clientele to his new restaurant. The building fronts pacific coast highway, yet off a frontage road, so creating a visual attraction would help to attract customers to seek out the restaurant. The idea was to create a new look that would compliment the creative menu and unique vibe of smoQe. On the interior we removed the old drop down ceiling and stripped the floors and concrete columns and concrete beams and exposed it, giving the space a new life. smoQe.com
