A refuge in the foothills above Silicon Valley, this remodel of a mixed use development includes a restaurant, coffee shop, lodging, and a large outdoor patio. The industrial materials recall the site’s railroad past, but the spaces are all about modern enjoyment and relaxation: with large bi-fold doors opening the private dining area out to the air and a series of steel trellises on the patio providing a respite from the sun, patrons get indoor-outdoor comfort throughout the site.
